Designing sleep
Falling asleep is a skill that we all learned as babies. If a baby does not get enough sleep when she needs it then difficulties arise, not only for her parents but also in her cognitive and emotional development. By examining everything from tricks learned from parents to reflexes that lie deep in our genetic memory I have found keys to help babies sooth themselves.
Blain Kennedy was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He is interested in the changing ways the human race communicates with itself about itself; how it often tragically fails at it, and then redeems itself with an exquisite piece of jewelry, or music, or pie. He earned a BA in Communications. After careers in public radio and interactive advertising, he is pursuing a Master's degree in Industrial Design at Pratt Institute. His 23 month old daughter sleeps like a champ.
